Meet Our Board Members

Dr. David Skelton

David is a retired physician, and has lived in Hillsboro for 44 years. He’s been a part of Hill County Kids for 9-10 years. David helps by packing snack-packs monthly and is a vital member on our board. His driving force in volunteering is “to feed hungry children.”

Jeff Slotvig

Jeff and his family moved here from Washington State over 18 years ago. He’s worked with children for many years as a volunteer at Itasca ISD, Church on the Hill Children’s Ministries, and now through Hill County Kids. It’s his goal to “leave no child hungry in Hill County.”

David Scott

David and Debra moved to Hill County in 2003. They both worked with children in the Itasca School system, and David has taught as an adjunct instructor at Hill College. In addition to serving on our board, David helps unload the trailers of food, bagging for delivery, and he delivers the bags to the schools.

Roberta Skelton

Roberta is a valued member of our board. She is a retired school teacher and has a lot of wisdom to add to our meetings. She also helps bag food monthly alongside her husband and her church friends. When asked about her driving force to volunteer for Hill County Kids, she said she wants to uphold the words of the Bible, “Feed My Sheep.”

Michael McReynolds

Michael is the Lead Pastor of Church on the Hill. He and his family have lived in Hillsboro for 23 years. When two members of his church approached him about forming Hill County Kids, he supported them 100%. Michael is passionate about serving our community and he leads by example.

Annette Rendon

Annette has been here for 30 years. Her husband attended school in Hillsboro, and their girls attended Abbott School. She has worked with local families for many years, including teaching, being a counselor for ACH Child and Family Services, and Education Coordinator for Head Start.

Brandy Adkins

Brandy is a founding member of Hill County Kids. She also serves as our local director for Meals on Wheels. Brandy has a heart for serving. She works many hours each week to make sure Hill County Kids runs smoothly, has enough volunteers, and sees to it that everything gets done on time.

Karen Bush

Karen is a founding member of Hill County Kids. Her vision for feeding kids came about after a personal encounter with kids who weren’t always sure where their next meal would come from. She acted on her vision, connected with people that could help her make her dream come true, “Feeding hungry Hill County Kids, one child at a time.”
